1 Year Check-up

We finally got to go to Caden’s 1 year check-up.  Mommy missed the original appointment so we had to go 2 weeks late.  Ooops!  We actually switched pediatricians too.  We got to see Doctor Sarah Liss and we loved her!  Here were his stats:

Height: 30 3/4 inches (80th percentile)

Weight: 21.2 pounds (25th percentile)

Head circumference: 18 inches (31st percentile)

I was a little surprised by his weight percentile but all his newfound walking must be keeping the pounds off my little boy.  Caden also got three shots that day including the flu shot.  Boy, did the flu shot rock his world.  He had a pretty high fever for a couple of days and he’s been refusing to eat.  He barely even wants to drink his milk.  The worst part was when he threw up all his milk and yogurt. Sorry if this is TMI but it was coming out of his nose and mouth I thought it would never end.  It was so heartbreaking to watch.  He’s also been so super fussy and sensitive.  It’s been really hard because he’s been having such a bad attitude.  We really need wisdom to find the balance between disciplining him and showing him grace since we know he’s physically not himself.   Booooo flu shot!

On a more positive note, it’s been so much fun to see Caden growing into a toddler and becoming so much more aware of things.  At church he has graduated from being in the infant room to the toddlers room.  So funny because even though he was the youngest one, we heard that he totally stood his ground his first day and even stole some toys from other kids.  Uh-oh, hope he stays out of trouble.

We just switched his car-seat to be forward facing.  He’s such a big boy now.  🙂 He’s also saying a few more “words.”

dada= daddy, sometimes mommy, and many other things

mama=mommy and food

ggagga=snacks

wawa=water

ca=car

ba=ball

oooo= milk (oo you means milk in Korean)

He’s also waving bye-bye now and signing “thank-you.”  So much fun.  We are so thankful for him and praying daily for his little heart to trust in Christ one day.  I’ll leave you with some studio photos we got of Caden right before his first birthday.  They seriously did an awesome job of getting him to ham it up!
