15 Month Update

Caden had his 15 month check-up and here are his stats:

Height: 31.5 inches (64%)

Weight: 22.5 lbs (20%)

Head circumference: 18.75 inches (65%)

Looking at his stats, Caden hasn’t gained any weight since his 1 year check-up!  His percentile is getting lower in terms of weight and height.  Looks like he’s getting thinner and shorter.  Yikes.  🙂  I keep thinking he’s so chubby because of his belly but it looks like I need to feed him more.  That shouldn’t be a problem.

It’s so sad but I’ve really slowed down in my picture taking and blogging since Caden turned one.  There’s so much that he’s doing and learning these days.  It’s so fun to hear him pick up new words like “all done”, “auntie”, “juice”, “caden”, “cheese”, “choo choo”, and several in Korean.  He even picked up “hey you” from hearing me say it.  Oooops!

He’s little personality is coming out and so far I’d say that he’s pretty much an extrovert just like his dad.  He loves being out and saying hi to anyone and everyone.  He’s definitely not a kid who likes to stick by Mommy’s side.  He loves to roam free and explore his environment.  At home he’s been showing much more of his dramatic (and sinful) side.  Sometimes he will throw himself on the ground and throw a serious tantrum when he doesn’t get what he wants.  It’s pretty shocking and comical.  Sometimes I want to laugh because really, he’s thrown himself on the ground for a crayon, but I know it’s an opportunity to discipline and shepherd him.  It is just amazing how many emotions a 15 month old can have.

Caden’s been trying to eat more with a fork lately.  It’s not always successful but practice makes perfect!

Here’s Caden saying “cheese” for the camera.   Do you notice Caden’s grubby hand marks all over the glass door?  Wowee.

Caden still loves his balls!

He’s also been REALLY into balloons which he calls “moon.”  Here he’s holding a free deflated one from Nordstrom’s.

Yay for turning 15 months!

Hello 2011

We celebrated the new year with a ton of family time.  For New Year’s Eve the Pyo siblings decided to have a relaxing evening and just watch a couple movies together.  Sam and Connie ended up spending the night and then we all met up the next morning for some breakfast, Korean style.  That evening our family went to my uncle’s house to celebrate with my extended family.  We then speed over to DP’s uncle’s house to pay respect to his extended family.  It was so hilarious but adorable to watch Caden trying to “bow” to the adults to wish them a happy new year.

Getting assistance from Daddy to bow to Great Grandpa and Grandma.

Wait, I’m supposed to put my head down?

Ohhhh, this is so hard.

How about I just lay down like this?

I got it right???

Right after the new year I got to meet up with my old roommates from college at a really cute place called the Little Prince Cafe.  It’s a cafe with an entire kid’s fun zone.  It’s awesome because 2 workers are there to watch the children at all times.  It’s a bit pricey but it was nice to be able to have some adult time while the kiddos were having some supervised fun.

I’m so happy we were able to get a group picture with all the kiddos.

Caden had so much fun in this colorful ball zone.  I think he was a bit overwhelmed at first.

But he quickly got over it and started loving it!

Yay!  Happy New Year!
